To further expand its enterprise customer base and bring modernization to electronics design collaboration, AllSpice.io announced today that it has secured an additional $6 million in venture capital funding. This latest round, supported by notable investors such as Root Ventures, Flybridge Capital Partners, Benchstrength, Bowery Capital, and a group of angel investors, brings the total funding for AllSpice.io to $10 million.

AllSpice.io will use the fresh capital infusion to develop new features catering to its growing enterprise customer base and to enhance complex implementations, integrations, and additional support for ECAD formats.

AllSpice.io, founded and constructed by engineers, empowers fellow engineers to streamline their workflows using the capabilities of Git. Through features like automation, cross-team collaboration, and version control, engineers can efficiently develop hardware. AllSpice.io’s clientele spans from startups to Fortune 500 companies in diverse industries such as robotics, instrumentation, aerospace, consumer electronics, transportation, medical devices, and automotive.

Valentina Ratner, Co-Founder & CEO of AllSpice.io, highlighted the significance of modernizing electronics design processes for enterprises. “After decades of stagnant toolsets, enterprises have a giant appetite to modernize their electronics design processes. In a difficult market, driving greater team efficiency is crucial,”  Ratner said.

Addressing the evolving challenges faced by hardware teams, Kyle Dumont, Co-Founder & CTO of AllSpice.io, emphasized the complexity of today’s hardware requirements and the ever-shrinking delivery timelines. He pointed out that a car, for instance, has transitioned from having a dozen or so PCBs 20 years ago to now having hundreds.

Ratner explained that these challenges are increasingly evident among engineering leaders in enterprises. Hardware development timelines have drastically compressed from years to months over the last decade, demanding that hardware and electrical engineering teams become significantly more efficient.

AllSpice.io aims to serve as a centralized platform for hardware teams, akin to what GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket have done for software teams. The platform is primarily utilized by Hardware Engineers, PCB Designers, and Electrical Engineers, along with other parallel teams and third parties, including Firmware Engineers, Software Engineers, Contract Manufacturers, and Procurement Departments.
